Food Programs

Mission Outreach runs a soup kitchen 365 days a year as well. We serve three hot meals daily to residents as well as to anyone else in the community that walks-in for a meal. Our times never vary so people can always count on a meal. All we ask is that you sign in on the meal sheets for statistical purposes.

Our residents prepare the food in the Soup Kitchen. The Mission has several means of acquiring food: through direct purchases, donations and contributions from the Food Bank of NEA. We also have Volunteers that prepare meals and serve them as well. Volunteers can just serve but we have several that also cook for our kitchen.

Anyone is eligible to eat from our kitchen. Prior to COVID, we served meals in a buffet line with grab trays. Residents could sit and enjoy their meal within the facility. For the time being, we now we prepare to-go sacks and distribute those out of the parking lot.

Food Pantry Requirements

  • You must have a Greene County ID and meet income requirements to get a food box.
  • Qualified candidates are allowed one food box once a month.
Our boxes contain food that Mission Outreach has acquired through purchases, donations, and from the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas.
Prior to COVID, individuals would come to the Mission and were able to select 3 items to go into their box. Now, we pick for them and distribute the boxes in the parking lot.
A food box contains meat and vegetables that normally last up to 3 days for a family of 4.

We Need Your Help

Beyond financial donations and food contributions, you can assist our efforts in eradicating hunger by volunteering. Volunteers can give back through cooking and preparing meals, serving meals, working in the food pantry, unloading food trucks, shopping for groceries and more.
