Home The Mission is in operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  The needs of the homeless and indigent of the community don't take holidays and weekends off. The goal of the Mission is to meet the needs in every way possible.

Emergency shelter

To date in 2008, the Mission has provided emergency shelter to 577 needy individuals.  As of October, 2008, there were 52 residents at the Mission. This number includes 12 children, 12 females, and 28 males. The number changes as the some are there only for temporary housing, while others become longer term residents until they can become self-sufficient.

The Mission has provide over 21,720 meals in 2008.  The average number of meals served per week is over 650 meals.  This volume of food requires the generosity of the community.  Each week we publish an email to interested parties with specific needs for that week.  If you would like to receive that email, send us and email at contactus@missionoutreachnea.com.  We will add you to our email list for that weekly email, which is sent out each Wednesday.

Monthly Food box distribution
Each month, there is a mass merchandise food distribution.  These food boxes are distributed to residents of the community in need of assistance for obtaining food, but do not live at the Mission.  To date in 2008, the Mission has distributed 2,776 food boxes to the community to those who meet the guidelines.
   
  Charitable Clinic
Since opening at the first clinic in September, 2007, the Mission Outreach Charitable Clinic has provided health services to over 700 individuals who could only receive medical treatment at an emergency room, with no ability to pay for the services. To date in 2008, 686 patients have been seen at the clinic with a total of 1,254 prescriptions being filled. Since they can now obtain medical care, many of the are able to return to the work force and become self-sufficient contributors to the community.

   
 

Financial assistance
The Mission attempts to assist individuals from becoming homeless by providing financial assistance in certain situations, where qualifications are met.  In October of 2008, $389.00 was provided to individuals for rent assistance, transportation, prescriptions or utilities.
