Clinic Operation Mission Outreach NEA understands the continued rising costs of health care for everyone. Regardless of one's economic status or earnings capability, health care can be a significant portion of a families financial resources. Many families have to make choices of food and shelter over medical care, which in many cases is much needed. To address this need, the Mission in cooperation with Arkansas Methodist Medical Center and a number of health care professionals in the area have created one of the few charitable medical clinics in Northeast Arkansas, and in fact the state.
This clinic is open the first and third Thursday of each month and is staffed by
a total volunteer staff of both medical professionals and lay people as well.
The fundamental principal of the clinic is rooted in the love of Christ.
Regardless of the reason an individual or family finds themselves unable to pay
for medical care, the charitable clinic ministers to those medical needs in
every way possible. |

Eligibility Requirements
There are eligibility requirements which must be met in order to obtain the
medical services. First the individual or family must meet 150% of federal
poverty guidelines. When applying for the medical services at the clinic,
proof of income and no access to health insurance must be presented for
verification. One must also show that application has been made for
Medicaid/Medicare and is either pending or has been denied.
To obtain services at the clinic, visit the Mission and complete the application
for services. If accepted, they will then register you for the next clinic
date. |

Services Provided
While it is the desire to provide any necessary medical treatments, there
are limits as to what can be done at the clinic. No surgical procedures
are performed at the clinic and no control medications are available through the
clinic.
We do provide general medical care including treatment for diabetes,
hypertension, cold/flu symptoms and many more.
If there is a need, basic lab work can be performed at the clinic and
prescriptions written.
For many medications, a medicine assistance program operates at the clinic
through Crowley’s Ridge Regional Health Coalition.
While we continue to search for ways to provide optical and dental services
through the clinic, today those services are only available on a limited basis
by referral to other medical professionals only. |
