Thank you for your support of Mission Outreach! Please feel free to forward this report to others who might be interested in our ministry. Current Statistics
Here's what we figure: You have to be mighty hungry to walk from your home by the fairgrounds to the mission in the sleet just to have something to eat. That's what we decided after Jamie gave a dinner guest a ride home Monday night. What a powerful reminder that there are folks out there that truly count on the mission for their daily bread . . . Interagency Council Meeting at Mission Outreach on Thursday, December 18th Derek Cromwell, Arkansas State Program Specialist for the Corporation for National and Community Service, will be speaking at this months Interagency Council meeting. Derek will be discussing and answering questions about national service programs, specifically AmeriCorps* VISTA and how this program could possibly be of service in our community. You are invited to join us for this informational meeting at noon tomorrow. Lunch will be provided. Did you know? We have received 734 coats and jackets since the Warm Coat drive began last month. Thank you for your response to this need in our community!
All Saints' Episcopal Church Hosting SOS (Soup or Salad) Luncheon to benefit Mission Outreach Friday, December 19th 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. $5 - choice of soup or salad $7 - both soup and salad Price includes beverage and dessert Please plan to join us this Friday at All Saints’! The church is located at 10th and Main Streets, just one block north of the hospital. Call 236.2367 for additional information. See you there! Arkansas Community Foundation wants to help you stop hunger in our community. I wanted to let you know about this easy way to help hunger relief organizations meet the growing need this holiday season. During the week of December 14-20, we're offering a matching program—we’ll give $1 for every $2 you donate through our website to the hunger relief charity of your choice, for any donation between $25 and $2,000. All you have to do is visit www.arcf.org between December 14-20 and choose the "Help Stop Hunger Together" link from the homepage. From there, you'll be redirected to an online giving form where you can make a tax deductible credit card donation and choose a hunger relief organization from a list of about 100 around the state to receive your gift plus the matching funds from ARCF. This is such an easy and cost-effective way to make big difference. If enough people participate, we'll be able to raise $300,000 to support Arkansas hunger organizations in a single week! I hope you'll consider being a part of this statewide giving effort. Last weekend for Ring the Bell Santa and his elves have had a jolly 'ol time ringing the bell at Wal-Mart this Christmas season. KDRS will be doing a live remote this Friday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Stop by and say hi! And thank you for giving generously to Ring the Bell ! Thank you again for your support of Mission Outreach!
