• Emergency Shelter Residents today: 40      12 children, 9 females, 19 males    

• Soup Kitchen Meals served to date:   22,416      Served since last week:  752

• Food Boxes distributed to date:  2987

• Medical Clinic patients this month: 38     To date:  721  

• Prescriptions filled this month: 139      To date:  1844

• Individuals receiving financial assistance for utility, rent, transportation and prescription assistance: 476

 

It’s not just another chili cook-off…

It’s a Chili Rodeo!

      

 

On Saturday, October 3rd from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the B.C. Loyd Building on the Greene County Fairgrounds, the entire family will enjoy good food, music, fun and fellowship at the Mission Outreach Chili Rodeo. As of today, teams set to compete are:

Southside Community Church

Arkansas Methodist Medical Center

Paragould Rotary Club

Eastside Baptist Church – 2 teams

The competition will be fierce but fun, and you don’t want to miss it. So dust off that old cowboy hat and hitch up your wranglers for some chili cooking and tasting, line dancing, and karaoke singing to help raise funds for the homeless and hungry in Greene County and Northeast Arkansas !  Deadline for team registration is September 25^th.  For information on how you can participate as a contestant, contact Heather at hparson@missionoutreachnea.com or 236.8080.

In the United States , two-thirds of children living in poverty have one or more parents who work and one-third have a parent who works full-time, year-round. Government assistance programs such as food stamps provide a lifeline, but our working poor continue to struggle…

 

Many thanks to Al Wilson and Mike Woodside for their assistance!  We are looking for additional volunteers who are willing to go to Jonesboro one Friday a month to help us pick up commodities.  The truck arrives at Nettleton Baptist Church and unloading begins at 10 a.m. This usually takes at least couple of hours, sometimes longer. Deliveries are scheduled for:

Friday, October 16^th

Friday, November 20^th

Friday, December 11^th
