It’s not just another chili cook-off…

It’s a Chili Rodeo!

      

 

Dust off that old cowboy hat and hitch up your wranglers for some chili cooking and tasting, mechanical bull riding, line dancing, and karaoke singing to help raise funds for the homeless and hungry in Greene County and Northeast Arkansas . Saturday, October 3rd from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the B.C. Loyd Building on the Greene County Fairgrounds, the entire family will enjoy good food, music, fun and fellowship and help raise funds for Mission Outreach of Northeast Arkansas. Getting back on your feet is hard work.

You literally have to start over. Spot jobs enable residents to make quick cash in order to address emergency needs, such as obtaining identification or to purchase clothing or tools to become more “work ready”. It’s not easy for many of those we serve to find immediate work. Often illiteracy is an issue. It’s hard to find a job when you can’t read or write. Are you looking for assistance with a yard project? Do you need semi-skilled labor in carpentry, construction or janitorial help? We have men and women who want to work.

New Opportunity to Serve

 We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to go to Jonesboro one Friday a month to help us pick up commodities.  The truck arrives at Nettleton Baptist Church and unloading begins at 10 a.m. This usually takes at least couple of hours, sometimes longer. Deliveries are scheduled for:

Friday, September 11^th

Friday, October 16^th

Friday, November 20^th

Friday, December 11^th
