Prayer Requests: Three of our residents were hospitalized this week: one resulting from a stroke, one for eye surgery, and one for complications in passing kidney stones.
Success: Robert, age 22 and a resident in our emergency shelter, was always in special education classes. His challenges are pretty obvious after a brief conversation, but wanted a chance to prove himself. Monroe gave him that opportunity. It doesn’t have to be at work until 4:00 p.m., but he’s up, dressed with backpack in hand by 8:00 a.m. raring to go! Today he asked staff help finding an apartment, boasting on three weeks of steady employment, nearly every dime going to savings. “I knew I could do it”, he said.
