News to Know:

The Mission Outreach Chili Rodeo Has Been Rescheduled for October 3rd!

The Greene County Fairgrounds are being used to house operations for some of our neighboring utility companies who are assisting with ice storm recovery.  After talking with several team and committee members, the decision has been made to change the Chili Rodeo to a fall event.  We hope you will mark October 3rd as the new date to come out and join us for some chili cooking and tasting, mechanical bull riding, line dancing, and karaoke singing to help raise funds for the homeless and hungry in Greene County and Northeast Arkansas .

You are invited to the Celebrity Waiter with a Mission Kick-off!

This fundraiser, scheduled for April 4th, is a dinner with local “celebrities” serving as waiters who can – and will – do almost anything for tips in order to raise as much money as possible for the mission. Want to know more? Waiters, volunteers and sponsors are invited to join us on Tuesday, February 24th at the Paragould Chamber of Commerce offices located in the Old Courthouse.  Prayer Requests

  • Tom, a 48 year old resident, will be having surgery tomorrow at UAMS to address serious heart issues. Please pray for him and for the doctors who will be performing his operation.
  • Last night a family with ten children – that’s right, TEN – checked in to the mission. There are three sets of twins, and all ten children are under 11. Pray that they will get connected to the proper services to help them transition into the next phase of life.
  • As many of you know, we were approved to move into Phase II of our planning process to develop a new facility. One of our first activities is to identify land suitable for building. The primary challenge is to find land in from our service area but not in the flood plane. The foundation we are working with has the potential to build and furnish our new facility, however, land funds are not provided. We are looking for approximately 10 to 20 acres and ask you to join us in prayer that this land need will be met.

 

 

This youth oriented event begins March 1st. Give us a call for more information or

First National Bank and Mrs. Sara Dickey for all their hard work to get this fundraiser rolling!

 Needs List

We thank God for our friends who provided a dining room table and four chairs for our recently acquired property to permanently house up to four handicapped men. We are still in need of some items to furnish this home with. If you have items that you would like to donate, please call Jamie at the mission. Some priority items are:

  • Living room furniture – sofa or loveseat and chairs
  • Kitchen essentials – pots, pans, dishes, small appliances, etc.
